We’ve been waiting for this DVD every since the indicate came out on NickJr, and I’m a dinky bit disappointed with the Dinosaur episode. The bonus episodes are comparable to the ones on TV, but my children also found something not quite apt about the Huge Dinosaur Rescue. My son struggled with how they could jump into a book and perceive animals that are dilapidated… time on this scale is a difficult idea for toddlers and preschoolers, and mine both found this confusing.

I try to seek the DVD’s with my kids, and this one I couldn’t do it through… singing, dancing, cuddly, eye-lash batting dinosaurs were more than I could look, at least for this long. The plan that Diego and Alicia interact with the kids is also a petite strained compared to Dora episodes.
The regular length episodes were handsome and my kids admire them. Very catchy songs and the kids esteem learning about the animals. The bonus poster is expansive too. Overall, worth the money.
Both of my children (girl-2yrs and boy- 3yrs) were captivated by this DVD. I admire hearing them interact with their cartoons instead of mindlessly watching the conceal. Both my son and daughter could be heard answering Diego and singing from the other side of the house! Spacious DVD and a improbable addition for mothers of boys!

Here’s the skinny on this. The two bonus tracks – “Naked Ogle,” which is titanic, although it’s missing the Pete vocals that appeared in the song later, and “Substitute,” which is heavenly solid but a tad sloppy here and there – are impartial what they are. They’re not inserted into the concert. They can be seen only as “extras.” Why they weren’t incorporated into the unusual film, I’ll never know. The interview with Pete is the same 2004 which was recorded for the 2004 DVD version and tiny theatrical release that year. The Grand contrast here, though, is the widescreen presentation. It’s widescreen, and there doesn’t seem to be any cropping or “untrue letterboxed” going on here. I compared the 2004 DVD to this recent 2006 one, and more of the film image can be seen on the 2006 version. What baffles me, though, is I didn’t contemplate they shot this film with widescreen cameras. Serene, though, there seems to be more of a visual image on this modern version. So, it’s worth it if you cherish The Who, but it’s frustrating that they didn’t include the two bonus tracks as actually fraction of the concert (main program) on the DVD.

If you’re looking for a concert video that captures The Who at the peak of their talents, this one is it. The year is 1970. Pete Townshend level-headed looks like himself (not that I have anything against Pete as an ancient fart, but, you know …) . He unexcited had hair, and lots of it. His energy is infectious. His jumps and splits are perfectly timed. In fact, he strikes an enthralling balance during this concert between The Who that was and The Who that would be. The windmill guitar strokes are eternal, of course. But Pete also employs “the birdman dance” here (you’ll fair have to scrutinize it) — a proceed dilapidated in the band’s early incarnation which disappeared in the 70’s. So at The Isle of Wight you peaceful witness the last gasps of The Who’s early stage act alongside the “Tommy era” gawk and act that would prevail for nearly a decade. Townshend’s guitar work, as usual, is gleaming and pulse-raising. Roger’s train is in sizable shape. His phrasing is arrive perfect. He’s in beefy “rock god” mode with his begin leather vest and lion-like locks. He struts and marches across the stage with confidence and youthful energy. John Entwhistle (calm alive) provides the awesome anchor for the hurricane that this band’s live presentation is. His only wild statement is one killer skeleton suit. His bass licks are inimitable. And Moonie? What can I say? He’s alive. (Hard to fill he’ll meet his Maker in eight short years) . He’s loony. And he’s one speedily, skillful, and challenging maniac on the drums. His sense of humor is on corpulent demonstrate, too. The band’s playing that night so long ago was, in a word: tight. I mean, these four young guys were playing off each other perfectly. Young enough to release mountainous kinetic energy, experienced enough to play with a high level of musicianship. Like I said, it’s the perfect moment in their history to occupy them on film.
The DVD quality is gracious considering this concert took residence in the increasingly distant past (although 1970 seems fair like yesterday to me — I’m an musty fart, too — but not dead!) . Sound quality is very respectable. And somehow (and this is the most magical fraction for me) you actually gather the sense, because of the scheme it was originally filmed, that you’re actually at the exhibit. For me it’s like a time machine deposited me in a crowd of long-haired Brits flashing peace signs in 1970; and there’s The Who, onstage objective a few yards (or meters if you hold) in front of me. Watching this disc is the next best thing to being at a Who concert benefit in the day.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Live At The Isle Of Wight Festival 1970! Click Here
In the extinguish, though, it’s worth it to retract this DVD honest to hear a cocky Townshend address the crowd with tongue firmly in cheek: “”SMILE, you buggers! Pretend it’s Christmas!” A must have for any Who fan.

I loved this movie when it first came out OK, so the actings not grand at all, and the casting could have been better BUT after whoever finally decided to release this movie on DVD, they gave MINIMUM Pains in its creation.

DO IT PROPERLY, OR DON’T DO IT AT ALL!
LIST OF PROBLEMS
1) Several Scenes are missing on the DVD version eg, Richard Greicos’ appreciate scene when they go to meet Sam Rothestein. Basically on the UNCUT version on VHS he impartial takes one of the ladies at the party by the hand and they go off to a room together and he starts to seduce her by consuming an ice rob gently all over her body while talking softly to her about how to waste somebody properly, after finishing telling her how to ruin a man properly he slides off the top with the ice recall.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Mobsters! Click Here
In this DVD version, his worship scene is cleave succor dramatically, basically he takes off one side of her top with the ice engage, kisses her, then takes off the other side. no talking about how to demolish a man properly. Whoever decided to gash the footage benefit, deserves to be shot. It objective made the scene SOOO grand more tasteless, almost made it stare like D grade soft porn.
Another Scene missing from this is a splendid scene where Charlie and his Dancer girlfriend are out on a picnic and they bag caught in a rain storm
Another scene is where Charlie runs away from Farenzano at
Staten Island
Who knows what else is missing, these were impartial to name a few.
2) When it says BONUS on the DVD menu, I actually idea I was getting a BONUS! Comic me, after watching the movie and accessing the so called BONUS option on the DVD menu like I usually do after watching a DVD, I was left slow founded and bitterly disappointed when the only 2 options of the so called BONUS material were 3 trailers, 2 of which peep almost exactly the same and the other bonus was a narrate of 3 other DVD’s that are recommended for viewing. This is one of the worst cases of getting ripped off on a DVD that I have ever experienced.
I’ll stick to my stout UNCUT VHS version and pray that it survives until the next version of this DVD comes out again, hopefully a director’s chop.
Message for the next makers of this film on DVD:
-DO IT PROPERLY, OR DON’T DO IT AT ALL
-DON’T Prick CORNERS TO Construct THE LENGTH OF THE FILM SHORTER
-GIVE US BONUS MATERIALS THAT IS ACTUALLY CONSIDERED A BONUS, eg interviews, history documetaries, etc
This movie was a thrill to examine. It shows how 4 friends remained objective that when there were rough times. It also portrays the rise of cross Luciano, Lansky, Seigel, and Costello. Titanic Movie to view if you like movies that record the Mafia.

There was some grief that this DVD may not be in widesreen format but it cetainly is. Both movies are in beautful 1.85:1 aspect ratio. They both have a lot of extras and it seems the new 1983 Vacation here has all of the features of the Special Edition PLUS European Vacation as a bonus for the same imprint? Even though European Vacation is really an putrid sequel, why not have it if you net for free?
This was a very droll DVD. My daughter had not seen any of the Griswold family adventures and she really got a kick out of them. I hold these are two of their funniest adventures and would recommend them to anyone looking for a light-hearted laugh. Check it out.

This is the kind of respect an anime series should glean. Honest translate the myth as-is and leave the ‘interpretation’ and reaction to the viewer. Blood and all. [They are ninja you know...] Spy it subtitled for the chubby accomplish!

Don’t accept me wicked — I fully understand the financial and practical value of releasing a dub version in order to near the widest possible market. I understand that there are many people who fair don’t care to read the dialog instead of listen to it. And others who unprejudiced don’t want their pictures cluttered up with words.
But there are unruffled those (like me) who want their anime as discontinuance to the new compose as possible; uncut and in the modern language, and with the unique seiyuu (yell actor’s) performances intact. So if that’s what you’re looking for, oh Reader Of This Review, Accelerate out and choose this space as soon as you can. The translation is pleasant (well… except for “beget it”, *sigh* Okay, okay… I can ignore that), the presentation handsome and you obtain a nice bonus in the story-board booklet. But most importantly you find the whole the legend of Naruto as originally intended… not fair the parts deemed ’safe enough’ for general American audiences.

Thank you, Viz, for giving us Naruto fans that distinguished respect – and a choice. I, for one, eagerly await the release of the next status in this uncut series — money in hand.
…I only wish the ONE Fraction anime could gain this same respectful treatment as well. *cries*
2008 EDIT: Yes, this has both a dubbed English track and the Japanese language track with English subtitles. And yes, Funimation does have One Fraction and promises us an un-cut release later this month. Woo hoo! Let the Pirate vs. Ninja wars really heat up!
>> 13 episodes (for those wondering)
This would be a vast deal and worth getting if Naruto ended at episode 50. Unfortunatly the series is REALLY long (and ongoing) as well as loaded with slowely paced episodes which makes the box situation not worth its label.
As the review before says, it ends lawful at the zabuza fight which is where Naruto actually gets moving.
Just reflect about it, the best parts in Naruto are around the first 110 episodes, at 40 bucks for 13 episodes thats around 340 dollars! not to mention the series is well over 200 episodes now.
But, the series is extraordinary. If you’re a stout fan (like me) maybe you wont mind dishing out that distinguished money for naruto… However, I managed to salvage a excellent discount on them which is why im even considering it. It was inevitable that the producers would consume advantage of the ongoing Naruto fad.
I would probably wait off until they release more episodes on DVD and acquire a savings yarn to afford them when the all approach out. That intention you wont be left on any cliff hangers =)

I have bought all six seasons separately from Best Consume. They are the only store to sell the “Unique Bonus Verbalize” boxes for each season. The bonus is simply an extra 30-minute interview per season. Many of the episodes have their fill commentaries by members of the cast and crew. The later seasons have more than the earlier ones. However, I don’t know if they made additional interviews impartial for Best Lift or veteran some leftover stuff. I’ve seen too many to seek or care, but I always bask in seeing each one and have not failed to leer any (maybe I’ll skip the Ulysses bonus exclaim though
. I’ve heard the ending is slightly different on the director’s slice final episode available separately. If you have to have it all, go to Best Occupy and find your discs there. They are priced at about $55 a pop, so you’ll raze up spending about the same.

It would determined be nice to accept them all in a single box, book-style packaging like they did with a very-limited edition Buffy in the UK, but I would be kicking myself for not being able to wait if they did. It’s taken over two years to eventually release them all.
The quality of packaging for each season is outstanding, to keep it mildly. The seasons are fold-out over-and-over style, which is no pickle if your DVD is next to the floor, as mine is, but you clear can’t enjoy it while folding it all out. In the second half of the series, they went to putting two DVD’s per fold-out page, instead of one disc per page like the earlier seasons. The diminutive anguish is pulling out the front disc to fetch to the benefit one. You’ll survey the later season’s are slightly slimmer for this reason, but when you are up to nine or ten discs including the bonus CDs, they must have felt a need to do something.

As a guy, I must say that I like all the fine-looking ladies who grace the pleasing cast of this series (Aphrodite, Gabby, Xena, Callisto, Discord, Mavigan, Tara, the Furies, Valhalla chicks, etc.) . Of course, the appeal of this series is the friendship of Xena and Gabby. I could have done without so considerable Joxer, who was the non-threatening, non-sexual laughable relief featured in a few too many episodes. I’m not seeing as noteworthy Ares as I expected. The Gods spent a worthy deal of their time on the Hercules state, so I’ll have to eventually net that series too. I wouldn’t mind watching both together in broadcast order, since the gods often went support and forth between the shows. Too terrible that Cupcake (not a god) never crossed over to the Xenaverse (bet you never saw a review mention that
.
I started watching it after flippin’ channels and seeing Discord for the first time. Wonderfully, she pales in comparison to the quality of the series. There are very few episode(s) that are not favorable. The costumes are wonderful, the music is the best I’ve heard on a TV present, the locations are glorious, the storytelling is always rich, and the casting and acting are what kept me coming help every week, and like every night in syndication. You need the DVDs. It’s very nice to gawk it on examine, without commercials, with a first-rate quality narrate (when viewed in progressive scan 480p or better) and the knowledge that nothing’s been sever. You should savor the whole thing, every season.
Maybe someday they will release a widescreen version. Starting with Xena Season 3, episode 3 (since the first two eps of season 3 were shot during the tail raze of season 2 and held over), Xena was filmed in 16:9 widescreen. All editing and effects were added to the widescreen version prior to chopping it down to 4:3 for broadcast in the US and elsewhere. Do an Internet search and you’ll score Michael Hurst’s interviews on the subject.
Xena Warrior Princess first aired in 1995. It would appreciate a successful 6 seasons concluding in early 2001. The entire 6 seasons is soon to be available on a special DVD package starting March 8. Australian actress (and yes she did her have stunts) Lucy Lawless starred as the larger than life, valiant and complex character of Xena. It began when Xena met Hercules who changed her intention of life. Formerly, Xena had been a brutal, ruthless terrorist seeking revenge on the men who had raided her village. Hercules enlightened her and converted her into the side of salubrious. Xena sets off to honest the wrongs of the world and to protect the mature, heroically saving the Mature World from all forms of obnoxious. Sidekick Gabrielle (Renee O’Connor) is a bubbly, poetic and sensitive romantic whom Xena takes on as her protege. Trainig with Xena, Gabrielle undergoes a mammoth change from terrorized poetess to confident and remarkable warrior. Xena herself goes through remarkable change, increasingly becoming more and more of the safe hero/martyr. The expose may be horrible for very young children say kids under 8. There is definate adult material- battle scenes, violence, war, physical fighting and even some nudity. I would have to say that it’s rated PG-13 or even R. It’s best viewed by very former kids or by teens 13-18. It was never excessively violent and at heart, it was human drama and quite spiritual. Essentially, it was the life-changing adventures of Xena and Gabrielle, who saunter the world- Egypt, China, India, used Sweden, in search of truth and redemption. Along the method, Xena fully embraces her feminine side and lighter side, becomes a mother, loses a son, deals with bold and even divine figures (Greek gods Ares, a diabolical god Dahok and the Hindi god Krishna) and becomes the stuff of yarn as she passes on to the world of spiritual purity.
My accepted episodes (warning..some spoilers) ..are: Xena saves Joseph and Mary the parents of baby Jesus from base King Herod, Xena safeguards the Ark of the Covenant with the back of the Prince of Thieves (played by Bruce Campbell, king of B movies), Xena becomes a mother and loses him, Gabrielle gets “impregnated” a la Rosemary’s Baby with an execrable demon child she calls Hope and later has to deal with destroying her despite fighting her maternal instincts, the Bitter Suite a very well written musical in which Xena and Gabrielle are fighting against each other due to the death of their two kids and later reconcile, the more lighter musical Lyre Lyre in which a song contest is held, Xena goes to China and is trained by a wise female spiritual guide, Xena and Gabrielle in India where they meet Krishna and the spiritual healer Eli, Xena and Gabrielle in worn Norway/Sweden where they encounter figures of the Norse saga “Ring of the Nibelung”, among them the Rhinemaidens and Valkyries, the “Paradise Lost” theme episode in which Xena and the archangel Michael battle demons in Hell, and the very arresting finale episode which I will not give away. LOL…
The display was very successful and drew millions of fans. Xena Conventions are mild held even to the day. It has been 10 yrs now since the premiere of the series. In the 90’s, it was easy to point out Xena and Gabrielle as lesbians. The 90’s was a time of being proud individuals and openly gratified or lesbian, and it is good that many lesbians did delight in the expose, but I never felt that the point to contained lesbian themes or even subtext. Xena and Gabrielle were simply very conclude, intimate friends, even soulmates, but it was definite that their characters were written to be heterosexual. Both Xena and Gabrielle were engaged/married to other men at one time in the show- Gabrielle to her hometown boyfriend Perticus and Xena was enthusiastic with the following men- an ex warlord, a sunless warrior named Marcus and even at one point the war god Ares. Was it so hard to absorb that two gorgeous women were really stop friends? Does anyone know what correct friendship is? Xena and Gabrielle would have given their acquire lives for each other. There was also the mentor/apprentice, or student/teacher relationship between them. Even at the destroy of the indicate, Xena who passes on the mantle of hero residence to Gabrielle. This is a great prove for both men and women who openly embrace strong female heroes. This demonstrate is especailly appropriate for the fresh 21st century. Xena and Gabrielle never hated all men, they hated the noxious some men could do. They had allies in men and women and not all the women on the prove were “well-behaved”. Who can forget the nightmarishly faulty and nasty Callisto (played by Hudson Leick) . Other people on the display were Ted Raimi as the silly and clumsy Joxur The Much, Bruce Campbell as the Prince of Thieves.

I unprejudiced watched the DVD today, and I have to say it’s Friendly! The recount quality is Expedient, and so is the sound. I’m really impressed with this DVD. Definite, it doesn’t have many extras (fair a few “bonus trailers” and very short featurette), but the quality of the DVD itself is amazing.
I’m satisfied I’ve finally been able to stare the movie again in widescreen. I’ve seen Short Circuit 2 recently on HBO (a few times), and I didn’t peek that in the chubby hide version that I was missing so powerful going on in the movie.
If widescreen isn’t your thing, you calm have no worries. The DVD comes with the “plump cover” version as well. The disc is a flipper, meaning one side is widescreen while the other is fullscreen, thus satisfying both crowds.

As for the movie itself, I esteem it. I’ve always loved this movie. I like it more than the first Short Circuit, and mainly because this one focuses more on “Number Five” (Johnny Five) than the first movie. It’s silly at times, and there’s even one section of the movie I secure teary-eyed, no joke. I assume this movie teaches many famous things, such as building and strengthening friendships (through the interaction between Johnny Five and the other characters), and it shows how to wreck the boundaries and treat everyone as equals. It also shows you the delicacy of life…. (later in the movie–I won’t SPOIL IT for you!) .
I recommend this DVD for anyone that might need a honorable laugh here and there. There are a few “cuss words” in the movie, so I don’t know if I would recommend this for children that are too young…. but I would loathe for children to miss such a movie. I saw it when I was 8, and now I’m 21 and I smooth like it. That says a lot for a movie that’s now “customary.”
If you settle to not take it, then please at least rent it. I reflect you’ll gain it to be a charming movie that most people will collect something out of.
It would probably be great like this; two everyman protagonists, themes of loneliness and isolation and yearning, a robot who is far more humane than his human counterparts…

Unlike the first Short Circuit Movie where there wasn’t worthy time to inspect the character of Jonhhy Five, or invest the machine with character, the second film does honest that and it does it very well. The viewer’s suspension of disbelief is fully engaged- even as an adult I secure myself lulled into feeling a deep sesne of pathos and compassion for Number Johnny Five. This is in share due to an fantastic pre-CGI special effects/machine team and also due to the exceptionally unselfconscious acting of the human cast: Fisher Stevens ((the unpleasant guye from hackers) ) is truly phenomenal as Ben Jharvi, an Indian ((I consider) ) computer programmer who is as inept at expressing his feelings as Johnny Five is as notion his believe) ; Michael McKean and Cynthia Gibb are also broad (McKean is perfect as a petty conman who betrays and then saves Johnny Five) . The actors did an wonderful job interacting with the machine and their performances add subtly fine layers of humor and sentiment to whta could have been a really abominable movie but instead becomes a great thing to inspect.
OK. The script is somewhat shoddy at times and the pacing is not so well-handled. There are some dead-end scenes, but for the most piece everything really hangs together well- Johnny Five stumbles through several mishaps trying to understand why humans behave as they do and why he feels what he feels. Oh, there’s a travel scene place to the godawful “I need a hero,” song. The kitschy 80’s pop accumulate wears a tad thin afterawhile. But then, this is a kid film at heart, and a rather novel one at that.

One scene always breaks my heart, one of my all-time current poignant scenes: Johnny five, after being caught by the cops, is taken and chained in the police basement- the stolen property room. He is slowly reading two books, page by page. His friends near to have him released- when allowed to leave he breaks his chains easily and sadly leaves (you search for, he could have left at anytime had he wanted to; there’s some Sadean undertones in how #J5 repeatedly allows himself to be demeaned and debased and almost destroyed by humans without fighting aid lethally- which he easily could… a postmodern and mechanical kin to Justine, perhaps) .
The books he was so slowly reading were Pinochio and Frankenstein. It always slays me, impartial like the Rockbiter’s monologue in The Never Ending Yarn (“They notice like grand, strong hands…”) .
This one is so worthy better, in my view, than Spielberg’s deplorable A.I., if only in that Stevie over-reached himself (again) on that crite film; trying to construct a ’serious’ film about ’serious’ issues… and then he tacked on a completely odious ending.
This film has no such pretensions- it mostly aims at fun. Because of that it achieves more than most serious cinema struggling with the same themes of technology and identity.

The books he was so slowly reading were Pinochio and Frankenstein. It always slays me, unprejudiced like the Rockbiter’s monologue in The Never Ending Legend (“They inspect like expansive, strong hands…”) .
This one is so noteworthy better, in my plan, than Spielberg’s bad A.I., if only in that Stevie over-reached himself (again) on that crite film; trying to originate a ’serious’ film about ’serious’ issues… and then he tacked on a completely odious ending.
This film has no such pretensions- it mostly aims at fun. Because of that it achieves more than most serious cinema struggling with the same themes of technology and identity.

I would have given this 5 stars if not for the advertisements that I’m forced to peruse every single time I pop any disc into my player. They can’t be skipped. They can’t be fast-forwarded. I can’t go to main menu directly. Each of the 4 discs contains about 5 minutes of advertisements (mainly Dragonball Z & Shadowy Cat) that you must sit though before you’re able to do anything else. I say I’m never watching either Dragonball or Sad Cat anime. Ever. To all marketing people out there: the surest arrangement to ensure whatever it is you’re marketing won’t sell is to force the public to explore your ads before they’re allowed to go on to the thing they actually want.

So that’s all for my only gripe here. Other than that, this boxset really is marvelous. The packaging is well done, and comes with 4 booklets filled with FMP goodness, things every fan would worship to know. Dialogue is in Japanese/English (selectable), with English subtitles.
The discs are also filled with extras, the best of which has got to be the bonus 30-minute OVA, “A Relatively Late Day in the Life of a Fast Captain”, which can best be explained as fan-service for Tessa fans… but seriously, it’s humourous in the vein of Fumoffu, and every FMP fan (even non-Tessa fans) would cherish it.

The anime itself is of course capable. It’s FMP, after all. Seriously, if not for the compulsory ads that can’t be avoided no matter what, this would be 5-stars. Possibly the only announce I had is the exiguous jump in continuity towards the last few episodes, but nothing serious that can’t be explained away easily. Like Fumoffu, TSR was done by Kyoto Animation, and is not to be missed by any FMP fan.
This is quite a much follow up to the first season of Chubby Metal Alarm – it takes the tone of the first season and brings it up a notch – meaning that the action is a tiny more intense, the sage is a bit more complicated, the relationships are more strained, and the fan service is a limited more…well… positive. Everything that I would interrogate from a sequel. The animation is fluid and easy on the search for, the recent characters are bewitching and enchanting while our former friends from the first season all acquire their appearances.
My only complaint (if you can call it that) is that because the epic is more complex (with various tale lines continuously interweaving throughout all the episodes considerable more than in the first series) there was noteworthy more to account for and look and not enough time in all the episodes to perform all the fresh characters and storyline as I would have liked. This does not detract from the enjoyment of watching and it doesn’t necessarily detract from the memoir itself either – but it definitely leaves you desperately waiting for a 3rd season to acknowledge a lot of your unanswered questions.
The status itself is simple – the DVDs are kept together in a slim box place case. I don’t engage any wonderful DVD inserts and the DVD extras are not really anything to gain mad about – but for my purposes (which is impartial to examine luscious complete anime series on DVD) this is a perfect fit and I would not have purchased a different state.
